About me

My name is Silvia Menchón. I studied Physics at FaMAF in the National University of Córdoba, where I got my degree and Ph.D. in Physics, (2001 and 2007, respectively). My PhD advisor was Carlos Condat and my thesis was entitled "Modelling the stages of cancer growth and some antitumoral therapies".

At the beginning 2009 I moved to Belgium where I did a Postdoc at the Laboratory of Neuronal Differentiation in the Catholic University of Leuven. I completed my Postdoc at Carlos Dotti's Lab with an International Incoming Fellowship from Marie Curie Actions.

Now, I am an assistant researcher at the National Scientific and Technical Research Council, CONICET.

My research activities are focused on describing biological processes from a physical point of view. In particular, I am interested in diffusion processes on the cell membrane, morphogenesis and cancer growth. For more details click here to get my CV.
